Compassion

Tyler is a junior in college who enjoys studying history and Martin Luther.

He grew up attending All Saints, but before Tyler participated in the annual high school mission trip, he says that he didn’t fully understand God’s compassion for people outside his social circle. He hadn’t yet had much exposure to poverty, economic hardship, or cultures different than his own.

While he was in high school, Tyler went on four summer mission trips with the All Saints high school group. On these trips, which focus on serving and helping people without judgment, he encountered people with challenges and hardships he had never seen before.

“The trips,” Tyler says, “were 100% the best thing the church A group of people poses cheerfully outside the Alamosa Community Greenhouse, with vibrant murals and a clear blue sky above.could have done for my fundamental development as an adult.” Through these experiences, he developed much greater compassion and empathy for others. He gained a deeper appreciation for different cultures and ways of life. He learned to see the dignity in all people, no matter their circumstances. And, the trips have even shaped his career goals. “My experiences on the mission trips,” he says, “changed my view of life’s purpose.” He is pursuing a career in education and wants to dedicate his life to making a positive impact on others.

Thank you for supporting our young people as they participate in these life-changing mission trips. Through your prayers, encouragement, and generous financial support, students are able to take part in these meaningful experiences at little or no cost, opening the door to personal growth, deeper compassion, and a lasting sense of purpose that stays with them long after the trip ends.
